What other costs can I expect to pay?
In most cases there is a delivery cost, this starts from £150 but any costs
that are required are discussed and agreed prior to moving forward with the
order processing
How can I pay?
You can pay by cash, cheque, bank transfer, credit card cheque, credit card
(Due to high charges imposed on us via our merchant bankers we charge up to 3%
if using a credit card) or debit card - We will soon be able to accommodate
finance through our Sundance dealership
Do I pay a deposit?
Yes in all cases we will require up to 50% of the tub price – Its important to
note that once committed this fee is non refundable as we are legally obliged
to pay for the tub from the manufacturer before its despatched.
If I cancel what happens?
As the spas are custom finished to your requirement the deposit is forfeited
and other costs may also be charged to you – However we always try and work
with you and if we are able to transfer the order to another customer then we
shall endeavour to do so in which case your deposit would be returned minus any
reasonable handling fees
How long do I wait for delivery?
It depends on stock and on expected import timetables but typically its 4 /6
weeks – Due to importation protocol we cannot guarantee delivery dates.
What sort of criteria should I look for in buying a tub?
There are many considerations, such a size constraints, but as a rule of thumb
look for a reputable dealer who allows wet testing so that you can try before
you buy to ensure the features are compatible for you.
Look for a tub that has a good brand name. We sell Sundance, Jacuzzi branded,
and many others (many imported spas look good on paper but actually perform
badly with little or no after care.)
Try and look for the balance between jets and type of jets vs. no of pumps, it
no use having 32 jets if its serviced by a small pump. It s a bit like buying a
performance car!
Ask for testimonials from other customers! I constantly receive calls of help
from customers who are in distress having purchased on ebay etc The saying “Buy
cheap buy twice “ springs to mind so buyer beware…
What sort of access is required to accommodate the tub?
You will need a flat and level site with a capability of holding a weight in
excess of 3 tons. As for access most tubs are delivered on a trolley dolly, end
ways up, so we need access of around 36” as minimum – A site survey will
highlight these issues
Do you carry out a site visit?
Yes we do – It’s free of charge and we offer a lot of useful advice to help
ensure a trouble free installation
What if we have no access?
Again a site survey will confirm things but crane hire can often be the
solution
What are the typical running costs?
On an average size tub you should budget on around £5 per week this include
chemicals and electric. You will need to refill the tub on a periodic basis so
if you are on a water meter a refill costs under £1
What sort of electrical requirements are required?
It depends on what specification tub you go for but generally you will need a
30 or 32 amp circuit installed from your consumer unit to the point of use. A
fully certified electrician must carry out this work including connection of
the spa. We have a register of electricians that can carry out the work for you
if required.
What sort of costs?
The costs are dependent on how far the cable has to be taken and if it requires
to be put underground so costs generally start from £150 upwards.
Who does this installation?
Due to changes in legislation only certified electricians can carry out this
work. Its best to agree this with you appointed electrician.
Is the water management difficult?
No – With the use of simple water test strips the water management is a
two-minute daily routine. The main aspects of control are sanitizer (to prevent
dangerous bacteria build up) and PH additives to help maintain a slightly
alkaline ph balance of 7.2 ~ 7.6
What happens if the pH is not controlled?
Well there are a few things that can happen – It’s a bit like a washing machine
if you live in a hard water area the heating elements will attract scale build
up and conversely if the water is to acidic it will tend to attack the rubber
seals on pumps etc. Also if the water is not balanced you can get skin and eye
irritations.
What are the alternatives for the sanitizer?
The most common is Bromine and Chlorine. We tend to recommend Bromine tablets
combined with concentrated granular to maintain an efficient sanitizer. We are
also using NON-Chlorine based sanitizers which are easy to use but don’t have
the smell associated with Chlorine based products. The non-chlorine types tend
to give less skin irritation and are a little more expensive than bromine.
Adding ozone to the water helps to reduce the amount of sanitizer chemical so
looking for spas with fitted ozonators is a good feature.
What about the warranties?
This is dependent on which manufacture but typically they cover the shell, the
shell surface and the performance system (pumps heaters etc) Again typically 10
years shell, 5 years surface, 2 years plumbing.
What happens if you cease trading?
The warranty is backed by the manufacturer and supported by the retailer so you
would need to contact them directly – If the manufacturer ceased trading then
the warranty would be void
Do you come out to the house?
Yes we offer a full on site warranty (unless otherwise agreed)
Are some items excluded?
The exclusions are consumable items such as ozone bulbs or colour scape
lighting bulbs etc – These can be expensive typically £150 upwards but they
don’t go very often. Spa covers are also excluded
Are the Warranties transferable?
No – unless otherwise agreed and in writing by us
